A note from me...
I recognize my lifetime of privilege as a white female; still as an ally for diversity and inclusion. I am here to partake in the fight against racism and will oppose racist actions and social injustices. I firmly support those who are peacefully exercising their rights standing up against the injustices that BIPOC face in America, and the World, everyday. I am also committed to educating myself by reading, listening, watching (online, media, film etc.) and conversing with those inside, and outside, my circle about systemic racism, social injustices, and how to be a anti-racist and ally to BIPOC.
As your teacher, it is my commitment and responsibility to help create a class community and culture where everyone is treated equally and with dignity. As we all learn growing up, 'treat people the way you want to be treated.' To quote Barak Obama, "We can, and must do better."
¡Lucha contra racismo!
