My Story
Erin Gilbert has been in the world of education since 2005. After studying abroad in Barcelona, Spain, she returned to Northern California inspired to teach Spanish and taught an extracurricular Spanish class at an elementary school. Elated with joy from teaching and working with children, she continued her studies in Spanish and graduated from UCLA with a bachelors in Spanish, Culture & Community and a minor in Cultural Anthropology. After graduation she moved to Spain and taught English as a foreign language for three years in a high school and an adult school. During the summers she taught at an English language learning camp taking students to London and also taught at a surf camp in Cantabria, Northern Spain. In love with the Spanish culture and the Spanish Speaking world, she returned to the United States to pursue her Single Subject teaching credential in Spanish and became a classroom teacher in 2013. Erin's love for language and cultures has taken her to Argentina, Uruguay, Spain, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama, and as of 2018 to pursue a Masters of Arts in Teaching Spanish in Guanajuato, Mexico (pictured above). When she's not teaching her favorite language or traveling the globe, you'll find Erin spending time with her family, biking, rock climbing, running, or somewhere frolicking outdoors.
